Thanksgiving Medley
"Thanksgiving Medley" is the third movement of a Thanksgiving Suite that includes: 1. "Come, Ye Thankful People, Come," and 2. “We Gather Together.” The three pieces may be played separately, as a set in a concert, or (as originally conceived) a Prelude-Offertory-Postlude in a Thanksgiving worship service.
The first two movements feature original melodies written in the spirit of the season, which then move to a freely accompanied version of the familiar Thanksgiving hymns. This movement is a medley of three other thanksgiving hymns set in a kind of rollicking rondo.
